Alex Weber - Weather Report - River People

For those of you that follow me on social media, you might've seen my last lesson post about how I used this Weather Report tune to start shedding double thumping. I originally learnt it finger style, back in college for a final exam but when I started learning how to double thump later on down the road, I realized this would be a great tool to practice that as well.

Since this tune is conceptually, fairly simple with the right hand it allowed me start adding all of the left hand melodies almost immediately. Sometimes it can be a challenge to start working on applying new techniques to songs because of the physical limitations of not really having control of the techniques yet. Finding tunes like this can make learning new techniques SO much more engaging since it allows you to start making music with a technique almost immediately.
