Teledentistry: How Can It Impact My Dental Practice?

Summary: The ADA Policy on Teledentistry states, “Teledentistry refers to the use of telehealth systems and methodologies in dentistry. Telehealth refers to various technologies and tactics to deliver virtual medical, health, and education services. Telehealth is not a specific service, but a collection of means to enhance care and education delivery.” This course will explore some of the evolving trends for any dental practice to utilize for enhanced patient care.
Participants will learn how Teledentistry can achieve:
• Secure exchanges of Personal Health Information (PHI) between partnering licensed dental providers.
• Innovative dental screenings and establish Virtual Dental Homes.
• Building a triage network for collaboration and secure referrals to in-network providers.
• The process of secure record exchanges.
• Formation of educational opportunities for patients.
• Establishing study clubs between oral health providers.
• Dental-medical record integration.
• Integration of existing workflows.
