Joseph Clement: The man who built the difference engine
Curator Ben Russell reveals the story behind Joseph Clement through the notes Clement wrote as a teenager. A self-taught engineer, Clement became in-demand as a precision engineer, building the intricate Difference Engine for Charles Babbage. Clement died on 28 February 1844.
