E617: "Wobbly Tunnel Thing"
🎵 Notorious James Brown (bootleg) - Unbelievable Funk
During test session cycled through an old background with a wobbly space tunnel thing - flat meshes with white plastic look on one side and gold metallic on the other. Flip around axis according to scrolling noise field in world space.
Fits the screen quite well but doesn't fit the VFX visual at all - too far back and no defined flat floor area to catch shadows from the VFX/lighting, so don't feel like they are in the same space and the VFX feel unconnected/ungrounded and "floating". Probably work if the intention was for some kind of space visuals, but for upcoming install need strong ties to user VFX visuals and spatial understanding.
Previously had a pass trying to turn it into a "studio" style background (curved sphere walls all around with flattened floor) but couldn't get the tiling mapped nicely. Will probably try flatten out to a cube room instead.
Also need to add audio-reactivity to the tile/wall motion.
