Thank you for 50K subscribers. We are extremely grateful.
We are cooking on a Floating Island in the middle of Loktak lake.

Episode 7 presents a special Guntea Loach fish curry (Ngakijou Shok), stinky beans chutney, and Lake Weed fitter (charang bora) prepared on top of Phumdis (Floating islands) at Loktak Lake, Manipur. Phumdis are used by the local people for constructing their huts for fishing and other livelihood uses and are inhabited by about 4000 people.
Loktak Lake is the largest freshwater lake in North East India and is famous for the phumdis (heterogeneous mass of vegetation, soil and organic matter at various stages of decomposition) floating over it.
Foods of Manipur is an attempt to showcase various types of traditional Manipuri dishes & cuisines; prepared heartily amidst Manipur nature's abode.
Location: Loktak Lake
