James Last - I'm Just A Singer In A Rock'n Roll Band (1973)
From the 1973 album Beachparty 4, James Last performs an excellent version of The Moody Blues hit I'm Just A Singer In A Rock'n Roll Band. The track features Last's English choir, which was made up of London's top session singers of the day, and the vocals reflect the choral-style vocals on the Moodies' original version. Also featured on lead guitar is Helmuth Franke, a veteran of the Hamburg rock and session scenes - besides Last, Franke also played in The Tonics, Wonderland and Udo Lindenberg's Panik-Orchester, as well as playing sessions with Bert Kaempfert and Roberto Delgado, plus he released several solo instrumental albums.
