2.) I labelled the satellite photo to indicate the weather systems.
3.) The forecasts will change.
4.) This is not an official update. I summarize the weather updates and tropical cyclone formation forecasts. Please confirm on official weather websites and social media.
The time and date of this satellite photo is as of 5 PM of November 30, 2021 (Tuesday) (Philippine Standard Time).
Tropical Storm (TS) 27W was estimated based on all available data (as of 8 AM today, November 29, 2021, Monday) at 531 km east (E) of Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) line(12.6°N, 135.0°E). It has the maximum sustained winds of 65 kph (1-minute average) and gusts up to 85 kph (1-minute average). It is currently moving west-northwest (WNW) at 17-20 kph. Currently, there’s high uncertainty on the movement either to make landfall on the Philippines (whether to re-intensify or to weaken till dissipation) or to recurve away. In terms of landfall on the Philippines, it ranges from portions of Northern Luzon down to Northeastern Mindanao. Also, there’s uncertainty when it comes to strength as well.
La Niña Update 2021 (by PAGASA):
La Niña is likely to continue through January-February- March 2021-22 (80% chance) and returning to ENSO-neutral by March-April-May season (50% chance).
Please refer to PAGASA website and Facebook page, as well as other weather agencies for more information, rainfall warning updates, tropical cyclone wind signals, and other specific updates.
