Spring season - the running trainings to Increase Speed and Endurance
Especially during this season, we can enjoy the warm days and
the daylight which are perfect for such fast trainings:
- Fartlek
- Tempo Run
- Interval trainings
In the video I will talk about the differences and the benefits of each one of these trainings, running in the DonauKanal close to the city center.
Fartlek
- Improve speed.
- Improve endurance.
- Improve race tactics;
- improves your ability to put surges into races and overtake
a competitor or knock seconds off your finish time.
- Improve mental strength.
- Provides a lot of flexibility, so you can do a high intensity session to push
your limits or a low intensity session if you are tapering for a race
or easing back into running post-injury
- it is playful, playing with speed
Tempo run
- Improve speed or distance.
- The goal of the tempo run is to push your body to run harder and faster
for longer periods of time
- Improve cardio
- Improve mental endurance.
Interval training
- You will burn more calories. The more vigorously you exercise, the more calories you will burn even if you increase intensity for just a few minutes at a time
- Interval training is the most efficient form of cardio, and can deliver benefits much more quickly than typical
- You will improve your aerobic capacity. and
- Creates a surge of endorphins
