In this vlog, I share my experience running my first 7 mile run. I am training for my first half marathon, I also share my weigh in from a couple days after this run and I talk about why I share my story.

There is not a one-size fits all for weight loss, but my goal is not simply weight loss. I want to lose weight to be healthy, but I am also on a journey not to define myself by my weight, not to let the number on the scale dictate my worth or paint the way I view myself. It's a struggle and I am not perfect.

Running has helped me learn so much about myself. I can do hard things. I can do things I feel are impossible. You can too.

My name is April Lauren, I share bits of my story here on YouTube, I'm a RYT 200 Yoga Instructor with a background in public relations and communications and my husband is in the Army. Summer of 2020 my weight reached 352.8, miserable and full of fear, I knew I had to change. I couldn't keep crash dieting and failing... cycling. I took a different approach. I decided to figure out what my body needed, what I needed and to take full responsibility for weight and my progress... And thus my weight loss journey began. With patience, kindness and determination, I began. I am halfway to my weight loss goal of losing 200 lbs and have found a passion for fitness and running. And, I'm training for my first half marathon. I look forward to sharing my progress, bits of my story and our adventures. Thank you for encouraging me.
