Wash Routine + Cheap Products + Scalp Massages

Thanks for clicking on my video!!

Welcome back and Happy New Year!!

Beginning with this video and the videos that follow, I want to emphasize the steps and processes I will be taking as a novice natural hair enthusiast. As I mentioned in the Intro, there were a few things I wanted to make a difference in my life coming into the new year. I really want focus on eventually growing out my hair and developing healthy hair habits. I spoke about my New Year's Resolutions being 1.) Taking better care of my hair and 2.) Trying new styles and products during my hair’s various stages.

With advancing my hair care and products I want to be able to do so without breaking my bank (and yours too if you choose to partake in this journey with me 😛). Most, if not all, of my products are under $20 and can be found at your local drug store or retail store such as Target (where I get most of my products.) I will list each of the products down below and a rough estimate of the price of each of the products though they may range depending where you purchase them.

* Biotin and Collagen Shampoo ($6)
* Biotin and Collagen Conditioner ($6)
* Mane and Tail Conditioner ($8)
* Alikay Naturals Lemongrass Leave in Conditioner ($12)
* Alikay Naturals Essential 17 Oils ($17)

Some Healthy Tips for Washing Your Hair:

1. Always condition your hair before shampooing. My hair is always super dry after shampooing so I like to let my hair sit with conditioner for a few minutes before I apply my shampoo. The conditioner acts as a barrier between the hair and the shampoo which will prevent the shampoo from completely removing all the natural oils.

2. Scalp Massages are key!! Not only does it feel incredibly relaxing massaging the hair increases blood flow circulation which promotes hair growth and who isn’t trying to stimulate hair growth.

3. Detangle during conditioner! I personally have very kinky hair that is difficult to come through without the help of water or product so detangling my hair while conditioner is in it is the best time to do it.
I begin my hair washing process with warm water and end rinsing everything out with cold water. The hot water allows the scalp to open up the hair follicles for deep penetration while the cold water closes those follicles and allow the nutrients and ingredients from the products to be sealed into the hair. The cold water also rinses out the leftover product without melting away everything that was applied to the hair.
