KLEZMER MUSIC & YIDDISH SONGS by MITTELEUROPA ENSEMBLE

Il MITTELEUROPA ENSEMBLE è stato il primo gruppo in Italia che ha studiato l'idioma della tradizione popolare della musica ebraica in un'ottica jazzistica, quella delle feste ebraiche dell'Est Europa, conosciuta come Klezmer e se ne è impadronito, apportandovi sensibilità jazzistiche e contemporanee, combinando identità e misticismo ebraico con lo spirito del nostro tempo e diventando, nel campo della musica jazz nazionale, una delle più originali ed apprezzate formazioni della musica klezmer. Il gruppo, riunitosi attorno alla figura del trombettista Mario Fragiacomo (che in passato aveva collaborato per molti anni con la TheaterOrchestra di Moni Ovadia), è il simbolo italiano di quel klezmer che fonde le tradizioni ashkenazite con le influenze dell'avanguardia jazzistica. L'essenza è quella di una musica di festa ma allo stesso tempo anche di dolore, che celebra la natura estatica delle sonorità yiddish e crea riflessioni e turbamenti.

THE FIRST JAZZ KLEZMER GROUP IN ITALY

The Mitteleuropa Ensemble is the first group in Italy that studied the language of the popular traditional Jewish music in optical jazz, one of the  Jewish feasts of Eastern Europe, known as Klezmer, introducing sensitivity jazz and contemporary, combining identity and Jewish mysticism with the spirit of our time and becoming, in the field of the Italian jazz, one of the most original and appreciated jazz groups of klezmer.
The group, founded by the figure trumpeter Mario Fragiacomo (who in the past has worked for many years with the Moni Ovadia Theaterorchestra), is a symbol of the Italian klezmer that merges the traditions of the community with the influences of avant-garde jazz.
The essence is that of a music feast and at the same time also of pain, which celebrates the sounds of ecstatic Yiddish and creates reflections and upsets.
