Joe Perry on the time Aerosmith were looking for a new singer to replace Steven Tyler

Archive #30 goes back to 2010 when the mighty Aerosmith regrouped after lots of turmoil the previous year and were on their way to let the music do the talking with a great tour showcasing once again the band is simply one of the very best rock n'roll act ever !

Hard to imagine and remember now as Aerosmith proved to be as strong as it ever was during the past decade but the year 2009 was a pretty turbulent one in the Aero camp when Steven Tyler entertained the idea of walking away from the band.

I had a phone conversation with Joe Perry in early 2010 for promoting the upcoming Aerosmith Euro tour for that specific summer (with Tyler thankfully back in the band indeed) and for the Joe Perry Project.

Here we talked about the uncertainty Aerosmith faced in 2009, Joe also mentioned they were actually going for a new singer before Steven Tyler made a sensational statement saying he was not leaving the band by showing up on stage and by surprise during the encore of a Joe Perry Project gig joining them performing "Walk This Way".
