Imprisoned in Iran, Dan Baumann
Disclaimer: This episode was recorded earlier this summer before recent events unfolded in Afghanistan. If you’re interested in ways to help the Afghan people, we would love to suggest Preemptive Love. Other resources can be found in the highlights of Jamie's personal Instagram page, @JamieKlineBates. Dan Baumann is an author and international speaker. He comes Backstage this week to talk to Jamie about heading to Afghanistan as a young missionary full of passion when he eventually found himself imprisoned in Iran under false charges. Their talk transcends the story itself as Dan takes us with him on this deeply personal journey of fear, doubt, hopelessness and suicide attempts. He talks about how God won his heart in a prison cell, how he learned that his mind playing tricks on him was not God being faulty and how eventually God not only saved him from prison but also from himself. You won’t be able to listen to this without being inspired and challenged to deeper levels of trust and friendship with God.
