Under the professional leadership of ankle and foot surgeon Reza Mobarak, DPM, FACFAS, FAPWCA each patient is given outstanding, individualized care for all their foot, heel and ankle problems. A native Texan who grew up in Richardson and graduated from J.J. Pearce High School, Dr. Mobarak earned his Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry with honors from Baylor University. Dr. Mobarak then attended Barry University in Florida to graduate with a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He completed his surgical residency at the Central Alabama VA in the areas of Intense Limb Salvage and Foot and Ankle Trauma. While in Alabama, he performed foot and ankle procedures, with a specialization in trauma, reconstruction, limb salvage, and wound care. Dr. Mobarak’s extensive knowledge of podiatry and hands-on experience working with patients makes him one of the best at treating pediatric, senior and sports injuries.

Dr. Mobarak is a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association and board certified in wound care, as well as foot reconstruction. On another note; Dr. Mobrarak trained in hyperbaric oxygen therapy for wound care and a quicker healing process. As an adjunct faculty member at both Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, and Greenville Podiatric Surgical Residency Program, Dr. Mobarak teaches his surgical residents the newest and most effective techniques in foot and ankle surgery.

One area in which Dr. Mobarak is particularly adept is nerve release. He completed an intense surgical course in treating numbness, tingling, and Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. He provides a treatment that can allow patients to walk the next day after surgery and results in decreased pain after surgery.

Dr. Reza Mobarak, DPM, FACFAS, FAPWCA is known for his extensive knowledge of wound care, limb salvage, and foot and ankle trauma treatments. His medical residency specifically focuses on diabetic limb salvage and wound care. As a result, patients come from all over the DFW Metroplex, across the State and throughout the region to Southwest Foot and Ankle Center. Patients understand they can trust their wounds to Dr. Mobarak; as he will do everything in his power to save their limbs from amputation due to injury or diabetes.

Combining his knowledge of foot surgery with his love of teaching, Dr. Mobarak is an avid lecturer. He speaks at national events on topics including advanced wound care, diabetic limb salvage, hyperbaric medicine, foot pain and ankle trauma. He serves on the infectious disease committee at the Medical Center of Plano. He also writes in medical journals emphasizing on wound care and limb salvage.

He has even traveled to the Middle East to teach other doctors about limb salvage and hyperbaric oxygen. Dr. Mobarak hopes to set up a limb salvage program there in the future, to help prevent loss of limbs.

Locally, Dr. Mobarak volunteers his time to the community, enjoys bodybuilding, auto racing, and traveling. He also coaches his son and others in Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling.
