Dr. Robert Wilcox is a highly respected member of the plastic surgery community and served as the past President of the Dallas Society of Plastic Surgeons - DSPS. Dr. Wilcox has practiced over 25-years and has established an unsurpassed track record of surgical skill and integrity. He is also a member in good standing of the medical staff of Medical Center of Plano and Presbyterian Hospital of Plano.
Dr. Wilcox is the Founder and Director of the Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery Center of Texas. After graduating from Texas A&M University Magna Cum Laude, he attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, graduating in 1984 near the top of his class. After medical school, Dr. Wilcox completed eight years of resident training in three specialties. He trained, in General, Surgery at the University of Florida from 1984 through 1989. Afterward, he returned to Dallas for his Plastic Surgery training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Following that, he was invited to remain as a Fellow in Hand and Microsurgery at Southwestern.
Dr. Wilcox achieved the very rare distinction of being triple board-certified in these specialties. This extra training provides exceptional expertise in surgery of all parts of the body. Dr. Wilcox remains current with the latest techniques in plastic and cosmetic surgery by regularly attending medical seminars, workshops, and conferences. Dr. Wilcox entered private practice in Plano and North Dallas in 1992. In 1998, he made the decision to design and build a world-class surgical facility/clinic/skincare center to compliment his increasingly global practice. Dr. Wilcox has patients from six continents and has published and presented numerous scientific articles in the United States and abroad. He is a respected member of the Plastic Surgery community and served as the past President of the Dallas Society of Plastic Surgeons, as well as all other officer positions in this organization of Board Certified Plastic Surgeons. Awarded the American Medical Association’s Physician Recognition Award and has served as Clinical Assistant Professor, Plastic Surgery at U.T. Southwestern Medical School.
Dr. Wilcox is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), which consists solely of Board Certified Plastic Surgeons, as well as the premier organization for cosmetic surgery – American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). Other organizations he remains active in are the Dallas County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, Gynecomastia Surgical Specialist, Lipoplasty Specialist of North America, Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dallas Society of Plastic Surgeons, and numerous other medical organizations.
