In Depth Hyliion Stock Analysis | Why Hyliion is Better than Nikola
Greetings and welcome to another Stock Investment Analysis video. Today we will be doing something a little different with an examination of a company which is not yet public. This is a company with a great deal of potential reward as well as risk. The company is Hyliion, and in this video I will break down the pros and cons of investing in this company, I will give you my plans for whether I will invest, and I will explain why I believe this company is a better investment than Nikola. Please like the video because I spend a great deal of time creating these and would love to get the video out to more people who are interested. Also please subscribe so you never miss a future video.
Why is Hyliion being hyped? It is because Tortoise Acquisition Corporation, ticker symbol SHLL, will be combining with Hyliion through a merger which will result in the new ticker symbol HYLN. Tortoise is contributing over $235,000,000 in cash held in a trust to propel Hyliion forward. Combining this with around $325 million dollars from a sale of discounted shares, Hyliion will have around $520,000,000 to fund growth and this should cover all of their needs prior to commercialization and production. It currently has a $1.1 billion dollar enterprise value which we can compare to that 1.5B market cap.
There’s two major problems Hyliion intends to solve. The first is the CO2 emissions created by the trucking industry. Transportation generates 29% of greenhouse gases. Only 335 of their trucks would eliminate 1 million metric tons of CO2. Now that’s only 1 million of the 36.6 billion tons emitted globally but every bit helps. Given 96% of countries remain committed to the Paris agreement and 86% of companies and 81% of consumers are focused on environmental and sustainability issues, there is large market for this. A second problem it intends to solve is the cost related to fuel.
In this video we will look at revenue, EBITDA, profit, and margins for Hyliion. We will look at growth and compare it side by side with Nikola in a number of ways including cost, growth potential, and business model.
What are your thoughts on Hyliion? Is it a buy? Is it overvalued? Is it a better investment than Nikola? Please let me know in the comments below. I look forward to hearing from you. Remember to subscribe because I am creating new videos for you every week. As always, good luck with your investing.
