Welcome to a special episode of Stock Investment Analysis. In today’s video, I will show you the excel sheet I use to analyze and compare different companies when I am doing research on which one to buy. I will demonstrate it by comparing Walmart and Target. Please take a moment to like and subscribe to this channel because I will be doing another $99 giveaway next month, and I don’t want you to miss it. This is video will help you answer, which is the best investment Target or Walmart?
I want to emphasize that this is not all I do or look at. I also look at resources like Fast Graphs, Seeking Alpha, Fidelity, FinViz, Macrotrends, and Finbox. I also go through the company’s various statements and presentations. Make sure you watch this video to the end because I will also show you where I get all of this information from.
In this video I compare Walmart and Target on Company Characteristics, Historical Growth, Forecasted Growth, Dividends, Returns, Valuation, Margins, and Company Safety. Within those categories, I analyze a large number of variables including: price to earnings ratio, price to sales ratio, price to free cash flow ratio, price to book ratio, dividend, dividend yield, debt to equity ratio, fair value, target price, forward pe, the PEG ratio, EPS, EPS growth, dividend growth, return on assets (ROA), return on equity (ROE), return on investment (ROI), normal PE, forward price to sales, gross margins, operating margins, profit margins, interest coverage, short term debt coverage, debt paydown yield, credit rating, current ratio, quick ratio, free cash flow yield, and beta. I compare Walmart stock and Target stock on each of these metrics but also compare Walmart stock to its own history and Target stock to its own history. I also compare them to the industry. Target vs Walmart is an interesting debate so please share your own thoughts in the comments below.
I gather my data from Screeners like Fast Graphs, FinViz, and Finbox. I also get information from Fidelity. I used data from all 4 sources to create this video today and provide you with the data I explained.
I hope this will help you to get a better understanding of information you may want to consider when deciding whether to invest or when comparing two companies. Make sure you subscribe because I will be creating new videos for you every week. As always, good luck with your investing.
