How I Balance Lathe Chucks

A explanatory video on how I balance lathe chucks. There is many ways to skin a cat, and there are other, non destructive ways to balance chucks. I don't claim to be an expert at this method either, this is only the second chuck I've balanced. An improvement to this method would be to ensure the chuck is always mounted in the same exact location on the spindle every time, something I did not do.

Looks like a future project will be to balance the royersford. Shakes like a mofo at 270 RPM.
