Wabi-Kusa 6 weeks Update
This is the 6 weeks update on the Wabi-Kusa I built during the second week of April. Heres is the link to the original video
https://youtu.be/kO0ewCAGGDg
The Wabi-Kusa is doing well but has very minimal growth as expected since the plants used here are mostly slow growers.
The moss on the substrate ball has grown more in the front than the back. This could be due to the back not receiving enough light. I feel rotating/turning the Wabi-Kusa once in a while will help solve this problem.
I also planted back one of the Staurogyne repens stems that was coming off. While doing so I actually snapped a small portion of the stem which did not get captured on the cam. However I was able to plant in back into the substrate ball after a bit of struggle.
The Wabi-Kusa ferliliser sprays available in the market are quite expensive so I thought of making my own spray by mixing a drop of aquatic plants macro and micro nutrients in a spray bottle containing RO water.
Macronutrients are essential for plant growth and a good overall health of the plant. The primary macronutrients are Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium. Nitrogen is essential for plant development, since it plays a fundamental role in energy metabolism and protein synthesis.
Micronutrients are part of the enzyme systems of plants. Micronutrients play important roles in photosynthesis. They are important in reactions such as Nitrogen fixation and Protein synthesis.
Micro nutrients are needed by plants in small quantities and mainly consist of Iron, Zinc, Copper, Cobalt, Boron and other essential micro elements.
