Concert for the 225th birthday of Franz Schubert on January 31, 2022
Turkish pianist Can Çakmur is the first prize winner of the 10th Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in 2018, where he also won the Chamber Music Prize, and the Scottish International Piano Competition in 2017.
Can has performed in concert halls such as Glasgow Concert Hall, Eindhoven Muziekgebouw, Tokyo Opera City, Muza Kawasaki Hall and the Wigmore Hall in London as well as the most important concert halls in his homeland, Turkey.
His debut SACD with BIS Records was released in April 2019 to great critical acclaim with 5 star ratings from Diapason, ResMusica and a 5 star plus Supersonic rating from Pizzicato. Can was also awarded an International Classical Music Award in January 2020 in the category of audio solo instrument.
Born in 1997 in Ankara, Can Çakmur has had the chance to work with musicians such as Alan Weiss, Arie Vardi, Claudio Martinez-Mehner, Leslie Howard and Robert Levin among others. Can currently pursues his studies with Grigory Gruzman at University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar and continues to work privately with Diane Andersen in Belgium.

Thomas Steinhöfel is professor of piano and artistic song interpretation at University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar. He has given concerts as soloist, chamber musician, and Lied accompanist in Germany, in numerous other European countries, in Brazil, and the United States.
