The piece was composed by Nils Wogram for the NDR Bigband, here to be heard in the final concert of the winter work phase 2022 of the "HfM Jazz Orchestra".

The trombonist and composer Nils Wogram is considered one of the most versatile and exciting musicians on the European jazz scene. Jörn Marcussen-Wulf describes him as a role model of a successful and independent jazz musician. Wogram has won several awards, including the Jazz Echo, the German Jazz Prize and the Swiss Music Prize.

The HfM Jazz Orchestra is largely made up of students from the jazz degree programmes, but is also open to musicians from school music and classical instrumental training. It was founded in 1996.

"Hogwarts" appeared on the album "Portrait of a band".
