Naldi s’est associé à un autre dissident de l’horlogerie, André Collard [vétéran de la sous-traitante horlogère et co-fondateur du salon EPHJ, qui vient de prouver sa résilience post-pandémique], pour monter un salon horloger alternatif à Neuchâtel, début septembre 2022, dans la semaine qui suivra les prochains Geneva Watch Days. Comme le mirobolant Carlo E. Naldi ne manque pas d’imagination, il a baptisé… Imagination ce salon, initialement prévu à Lausanne, dont on notera cependant que l’édition 2021, qui devait se tenir début septembre, a été annulée in extremis et sans motivation particulièrement précise, alors que ses organisateurs annonçaient attendre une centaine d’exposants – tout en se gardant de publier la moindre liste de participants. Cette initiative internationale, repoussée du 7 septembre au 12 septembre 2022, s’annonce comme doublement rupturiste : • Rupture géographique avec le duopole traditionnel Bâle-Genève et création d’une alternative à Neuchâtel, sur les bords du lac, autour de l’hôtel Beaulac. Ce serait le premier grand salon horloger de référence tenu dans cette ville qui est le débouché naturel de la watch valley des Montagnes neuchâteloises… • Rupture marketing, ce « salon de la résilience » proposant aux marques des espaces à peu près identiques, sur l’esplanade Léopold-Robert, entre l’hôtel Beaulac [qui serait privatisé pour la durée du salon] et le Musée d’art et d’histoire. Ambiance de Carlo Enea Naldi, le Don Quichotte de l’exposition horlogère : « Mettre en scène la partie immergée de l'iceberg horloger, avec les petites marques et les petites sociétés familiales, ainsi que le tissu industriel qui emploie des dizaines de milliers de personnes et grâce auquel vivent des centaines de familles plus ou moins directement liées à l’horlogerie ».
