The question of the papacy

The essence of the papacy consists in the defence of faith and morals against heresies and in the encouragement of brethren in the faith and in the following of Christ. Peter and the other Apostles gave their lives as martyrs for Christ and His Gospel. They gave us an example of a true loss of their soul for the sake of Christ. For only in Jesus Christ we have eternal life! Even in our lives, the most important thing is the personal relationship with Jesus! Jesus asks even you: “Who do you say that I am?” On your answer depends all your eternity. The Saviour said to Peter by the Lake of Gennesaret: “Feed My lambs... Feed My sheep.” (Jn 21:15f) Before His death, He commissioned Peter with a ministry: “...when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” (Lk 22:32) When Jesus asked Peter in the region of Caesarea Philippi who he says Jesus is, Peter answered: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus said to him: “…flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. You are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Mt 16:17-19) Peter was given the keys because he had truly confessed in the Holy Spirit who Jesus was. This confession of faith in Christ’s divinity is the foundation of all Christianity and of salvation. Without this key no one will enter the kingdom of God. However, when Peter returned to the sphere of human thinking, Jesus said to him: “Get behind Me, Satan, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” (Mt 16:23) Modern heretical theology is mindful only of the things of men. Christ’s divinity is denied particularly by the heresies which divide Christ into a kind of historical and mythological figure. Pseudo Pope Francis openly proclaims heresies and says that he just implements the Second Vatican Council. If the Church still recognizes this heretic as a valid Pope and obeys him, it is necessary to abolish the dogma of papal infallibility proclaimed in 1870. Furthermore, it is also necessary to abolish the papacy as such because instead of protecting the faith and morals it does the exact opposite in the person of Bergoglio. Although some Catholics today do admit that the shocking heresies of Francis are really heresies, they still refuse to admit the connection with the Second Vatican Council. With such an attitude, true restoration of the Church is not possible. There have been several holy martyrs among the Popes throughout history. The last one was St Martin (7th century). He opposed the heresy of Monothelitism. Pope Honorius, by contrast, did not oppose this heresy, and therefore he was posthumously excommunicated from the Church as a heretic. Heroes of faith like Pius X are also counted among the holy Popes. Pius X fought against the heresy of Modernism and worked towards a true renewal in Christ. The list of saints, however, definitely does not include the invalidly canonized conciliar and postconciliar Popes. They did not oppose heresies; on the contrary, they even actively promoted them. What is more, these pseudo saints were canonized by pseudo Pope Francis. It is a mockery of all the Apostles and saints as well as of the whole Church! Certain influential anti-Church circles today strive to abolish the papacy. Paul VI said: “The Pope is an obstacle to unity.” (J. Gelmi, The Popes, Introduction) In fact, it is heresies that are an obstacle to unity, both unity with Christ and unity among Christians. Unity in apostasy and heresy is harmful, with regard to both temporal and eternal life. A heretical Pope does harm not only to Catholics but to all Christians. On the other hand, the election of an orthodox Pope will be of benefit not only to Catholics but to all Christians. Why? Because he will fight for the preservation of the Christian foundations, i.e. for faith and morals. He will thus truly strengthen his brethren. Today we are faced with a dilemma. Either Francis is a valid Pope – but then the essence of Christianity along with the Scripture and Tradition is invalid. Or Francis is an invalid Pope, and then the doctrinal foundations of the Church remain valid. Two opposites cannot both be true. Francis must therefore be deprived of office as he occupies it illegitimately. This is the only possible solution to save the Church and papacy. + Elijah Patriarch of the Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate + Methodius OSBMr + Timothy OSBMr Secretary Bishops 2 August 2019
