The DM&IR 227 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone steam engine on display in Duluth, Minnesota. This is one of the most powerful reciprocating steam locomotives in the world. The drive wheels are mounted off the ground, and come to life with the aid of electric motors attached to the axles.
