Advaita Academy celebrated Shankara Jayanti 2021 by organizing the 2nd Edition of Global Festival of Oneness, from May 17 to June 16th. As part of the festival we featured talks by around 60 Scholars, Sages, and Seekers to share about Shankara’s life, works and influence across multiple dimensions that include Philosophy, Oneness, Leadership and more.

On June 10th, Morning session : Swami Tattwamayananda spoke on the topic 'Advaita Bhakti: Sri Shankara and Madhusudana Saraswati'. Swami Tattwamayananda noted that Adi Shankara and even post Shankara Advaitins were great devotees of Ishwara and worshipped 5 deities (Pancha devataaradhana). Both Madhusudana Saraswati and Shankarcharya have established that the Knowledge of Atman comes only from an overflow of the supreme level of bhakti and that too by Ishwara’s Grace.

Swami Tattwamayananda, currently the Minister- in -charge of the Vedanta Society of Northern California, San Francisco, served in various centers of the Ramakrishna Order in India as editor, publisher, and teacher of Sanskrit and Indian philosophy before coming to the United States in January, 2012. He had traditional training in Hindu scriptures, Sanskrit and Vedic literature from his early days. He served in various centers of the Ramakrishna Order in India as editor, publisher, and teacher of Sanskrit, Advaitic texts such as Sri Shankaracharya’s commentaries on the Prasthanatraya and Indian philosophy.
