The Humility Side of Social Impact | Allisa Charles - Findley | TEDxBotham Jean Blvd
This Tedx explores the profound strength in humility as a catalyst for positive change and impact in our communities and the world, after losing a loved-one to police brutality. Allisa Findley serves as the President of the Botham Jean Foundation; an organization founded in October 2018 following the tragic death of her brother, Botham Shem Jean at the hands of a police officer in his own Dallas, Texas apartment. Ms. Findley is committed to preserving her brother's legacy and maintaining the Foundation's vision, which advocates for Christian intervention in promoting social change. She is also the President of Sisters of the Movement, a 501c4 organization that emerged in 2020, aiming to establish a coalition of sisters of police brutality victims. Their primary objective is to work towards the implementation of fair and just laws and policies for people of color.
Ms. Findley pursues a doctoral degree in Leadership and holds a master’s degree in healthcare management alongside a Life, Accident, and Health insurance license. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
