The device in the video is the Caldwell ClayCopter, a fully motorized clay target thrower built for solo shotgun practice.

Unlike manual throwers that need to be cocked and triggered for every shot, this one runs on a 12V car or marine battery and does everything automatically. You don’t need a second person to launch targets.

It works with a simple feed-and-throw system. A vertical stack holds multiple clay targets. The machine feeds them one by one into the chamber, where a spinning arm grabs each disc and launches it into the air. Because reloading is automatic, it can fire targets in quick succession, including doubles or unpredictable sequences that mimic real bird movement.

It also uses plant-based biodegradable targets instead of traditional clay discs. These break down naturally with exposure to weather and soil, so you’re not leaving behind shards or chemical waste.
