Smith/Scarbrough Upset by Durish/Van Deusen in the Women's Open Semifinal Match | Clearwater FL

Lydia Smith and Bree Scarbrough entered the Beach Volleyball Semifinal as favorites and won the first set comfortably 21:15, but lost the second set 17:21 after the underdogs Klaire Van Deusen and Alexis Durish raised their level of play. In the deciding tie-breaker, Smith wasted too much energy arguing with the referee and lost her concentration, causing Smith/Scarbrough to lose the set 13:15 and bringing their campaign to an end. With the win, Van Deusen/Durish secured their berth at the Final of the Big Shot South Women's Open, where they will face Bars/Gebhard for the Championship and the prize money of the Women's Beach Volleyball Tournament in Clearwater Beach, FL.
