Rug Doctor vs. Bissell Big Green Deep Cleaning Machine

I chose to compare the machines on a very, very dirty piece of carpet we have in our backyard. I vacuumed it prior to testing with a regular vacuum.

I wanted to make the comparison 100% fair, so I made sure to follow the directions for each machine. I used Rug Doctor Oxy-Steam Carpet Cleaner in the Rug Doctor along with the correct amount of warm water. I used Bissell Deep Cleaning Formula in the Big Green Deep Cleaning Machine with the correct amount of warm water.

The Rug Doctor's instructions explain that you are supposed to pull the machine backwards over the area you want to clean. The machine cannot be pushed forward.

The Big Green Deep Cleaning Machine's instructions explain that you are supposed to first push the machine forward over the area you want to clean while dispersing solution on the carpet and agitating the area, then pull the machine backward to pull up the dirt while still
dispersing solution and agitating the carpet.

I feel like it was fair to film the machines first going forward and then backward at the same pace. You may disagree, but please note that we gave the Rug Doctor a few extra passes just in case.
