Rug Doctor Mighty Pro X3 -VS- Bissell DeepClean ProHeat
This is a thorough demonstration of the Rug Doctor Mighty Pro X3 and the Bissell DeepClean ProHeat 2X (professional pet) going head to head. I discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each machine in thoughtful and fair way. ***Update below***
Update to this video description: Before I buy products, I try to do research before making a purchase. When I went to buy a carpet shampooer, I didn't really find many good videos or posts that I found helpful. I ended up learning about floor care from trial and error, myself. This video was me sharing some things I learned about these two products, and to be completely honest, I'm proud of the work I did in this video. I shared a lot of insight that I have not found anywhere else. Furthermore, I tried to show results, from a NON-BIASED perspective. So many times, when I go to find information, the person making the video or post has seemed biased. So, I went out of my way to be fair to both products, in this video. I tried to share the GOOD and the BAD that I've discovered, in both products. I feel that I did a very good job, in this video. I know that, for some people, this video can be considered to be too lengthy, but the purpose was to show a real comparison in the most fair way I could think of. That meant sharing the entire process.
With all of that said, I am very surprised at some of the negativity this video has received. It seems that people who are biased for one brand or the other have taken issue with criticisms that I've levied at their machine of choice. Again, the point of this video was to share my experiences with other people who may have not used these machines and wanted some insight, demonstrations, or opinions. That is who the video is for.
I shared what I thought each machine does well, and what I think each machine has troubles with. To be honest, I still use BOTH machines, to this day, nearly a year later. I use the Bissell for quick cleanups, and I use the Rug Doctor, when I have time to deal with the things that annoy me about it. I have also, since, purchased a Bissell Big Green Machine to use for further comparison, and a video for that is being worked on.
As far as my cleaning technique goes: I do not advise my cleaning technique, shown in the video. That technique is NOT what the manufacturers of these machines advise, so I will not advise it. However, just because I use a different technique than what Bissell or Rug Doctor advise does not mean my video or findings are not valid. People who give the video a negative rating based on the technique I use are not being helpful or fair minded.
As an injured veteran who still wants to keep his house clean, I have developed many techniques for accomplishing tasks that most people would not use. These are techniques that I did not use before my injuries, so I get it... But... I still believe that my comments on these machines are accurate and valid. Down voting the video, for my chosen technique, is a disservice to me and potential viewers who could still benefit from the information shared in this video. The more the video is down voted, the more YouTube assumes the information was not helpful, and the it becomes more likely that the video will not be recommended. Again, I stand by the information I share here, and I spent weeks creating a video to share it.
As a side note: The shoes used in this video are clean. I only wear them when carpet shampooing. They have never been worn in any other context. (I do the same with shoes for other tasks, such as mowing the grass) Also, the water used is as hot as the faucet will get it. I'm not sure if I did something to suggest that I wasn't using hot water, but the water used, here is hot.
Again, I will be doing a new video for the Bissell Big Green Machine, in the near future (this is typed in May of 2016). Hopefully, that video, and this one will be helpful for people who are curious about these products.
