If you’re looking for a new way to enjoy the cool air of spring or fall and ventilate your house at the same time, then look to a whole house cooling system by Tamarack Technologies.
The HV-1000 whole house cooling system is an attic fan that draws cool air from outside, pulls it through your house and then ventilates the warm air through the attic of your home.
Whole house cooling is a method of cooling homes that takes advantage of the natural temperature differential that often exists between indoors and outdoors.
Whole house cooling will reduce the temperature inside the house to the outdoor temperature.
Any time the outdoor temperature is lower than the indoor temp simply open a door or a window and turn the equipment on.
Use this fan to reduce internal temperature and then turn on the air conditioning unit. You can save up to 30 percent on a/c operating costs.
The HV 1000 is quiet, simple to install, energy efficient, has a built-in insulating system, requires no maintenance and has a small discreet grille.
The HV-1000 should be placed on the framing between the space to be cooled and the attic. In most cases, that means the attic floor but the HV 1000 can also be mounted vertically to cool cathedral or vaulted spaces. Locate the system as close to the center of the home as possible for an even draw of air throughout the home.
The HV-1000 uses 110 watts of power while the fans are running, 6 watts when the insulated motorized doors are closing and 0 watts when turned off.
The doors are insulated to R-22 to minimize conductive heat loss or gain when the fans are not operating.
Both doors have full gaskets like a refrigerator to ensure a tight seal.
There is no maintenance required. The fans are sealed and permanently lubricated.
There are many variables that will determine how quickly a whole house cooler can cool a home, the size of the home, inside and outside temperatures, attic area, etc. the HV 1000 is rated for homes up to 2500 square feet. For larger homes, multiple units may be required.
The grille for the unit is low profile, and is white and slotted like an air conditioning grille.
The HV-1000 is shipped with an on/off switch with a built in indicator light weather stripping to seal where the HV-1000 meets the framing, grille, all mounting hardware and the Product Guide.
Now there are electrical connections to be made but if you’re not comfortable working with electricity it’s a great idea to call a licensed electrician to help with the install.
