Twisted candle tutorial

How lovely are the twisted candles you see on everybody's Christmas gift lists, in magazines and all over social media? So cute but so expensive to buy. Isn't it great that they are also so easy to make yourself?
All you need are tapered candles, a tall vessel that holds warm water and a rolling pin.
Let your candle sit in the warm water (not boiling!) between 5 and 15 minutes until it is soft. Flatten the candle stick with your rolling pin and gently twist it or bend it into shape. When finished put your candle in a vase of cold water to harden again.
Wouldn't these make the best little Christmas gifts? Attach them to a card and leave them on the doorstep of your friends and family. That would for sure bring a smile to their faces in this lockdown Christmas.
