Song Of Thanks for Essential Workers

Watching the news, one can't help but be moved by the words and emotions flowing from health workers. These people stand in for families prohibited from visiting their loved ones, they weep for the patients they are losing or have lost, they watch in concern and anguish as ventilators take over where other interventions are no longer effective... No one knew the normal rhythm of life would be swept aside by this virus. Health workers and so many other essential workers have stepped in and stepped up, while so many of us have essentially stepped aside, doing our part by simply distancing ourselves from others. A strange new reality. Along with it has come a new realization of how precious life is, and of how grateful we are for the people who dedicate themselves to the health, nourishment, and well-being of us all. Thank-you, essential workers. We especially honour those of you who have lost your lives to save one of ours. We thank you, we see you, we love you.
