Why Would Texas Build Bleachers for a Mystery Light? #Shorts

Texas built bleachers for a light nobody could explain.

In 1883, cowhand Robert Reed Ellison spotted a strange flickering glow near the Chinati Mountains and assumed it was a campfire. When he rode closer, there was nothing there. Over the years, the Marfa Lights drew pilots, scientists, skeptics, and tourists, all trying to solve the mystery. Then in 2003, Texas embraced the legend in the most unexpected way possible: it built an official viewing station so people could watch the unexplained from public bleachers.

Was it atmospheric optics, headlights, or something no one could fully pin down? That is what makes Marfa one of America’s strangest roadside mysteries.
