A dead enemy’s tooth killed this Viking conqueror #Shorts

He didn’t win with forty men. He won by cheating the count.

In the late 800s, Viking earl Sigurd the Mighty made a deal for a fair fight: forty warriors each. Instead, he arrived with eighty men on forty horses, hiding the extra fighters until it was too late. The ambush worked, and Sigurd claimed victory over his enemy, Máel Brigte.

Then the story took a grotesque turn. Sigurd tied his enemy’s severed head to his saddle as a trophy. During the ride, one tooth scraped his leg. A tiny cut turned into a fatal infection, and the man who outsmarted the battlefield was killed by a dead man’s mouth.
