The big takeaway from the Bahrain GP was the stunning speed of the 2023 Aston Martin-Mercedes. More than "best of the rest", it was not only quicker than the Ferraris and the Mercedes factory cars but also driveable and consistent in the (painful) hands of Lance Stroll and the deft hand/foot management of Fernando Alonso . In this debrief video Craig Scarborough analyses the key features of the Aston, deals with the question of whether rival teams may quickly be able to reply - and talks, too, about the astounding achievement of Red Bull, given the budget-cap and given the financial and aero testing restrictions within which the World Champions have been working.
