The desperation of mold illness - Allison's medical trauma
Allison on the desperation:
There's a lot of desperation when it comes to mold illness - because you've either been sick for so long or you've been so sick.
Her experience:
She went through major anxiety and panic for about two years. Was on nine different medications. It was horrendous.
The medical trauma:
She had a horrible medical trauma from a sinus procedure where there shouldn't have been any bleeding. She almost bled out and nearly died from excessive bleeding.
Taken to the ER - they could not stop the bleeding for five hours. Kept her overnight, sent her home.
Three days later: Started bleeding again. Sent back to the ER - completely unconscious this time.
They gave her a blood transfusion and emergency surgery to fix it all.
Why this happened:
Mold weakens blood vessels, disrupts clotting factors, and creates systemic inflammation that makes routine procedures dangerous. What should have been a simple sinus procedure turned into a life-threatening emergency.
This is the desperation - not just the chronic illness, but the medical complications, the trauma, the near-death experiences that happen because your body is so compromised.
