Marilyn Monroe's trip to Mexico, 1962.

On 10 February 1962, Marilyn flew to Mexico so she can select furniture and decorations for her new house which she has acquired in the Brentwood neighborhood in California. The trip lasted for tens days. Marilyn was seen saying farewell to her ex-husband, Joe DiMaggio after she had spent the summer of 1962 with Joe. It was during his stay in Mexico she met with Mexican director Jose Bolaños, who she fell in love and with and whom she will return to Los Angeles on March 2 and will accompany her to the Golden Globe Awards.

Marilyn Monroe gives a press conference at the Hilton Hotel Continental, where the star is staying, February 22, 1962, the day after his arrival in Mexico. Marilyn wore her favorite green dress, designed by Pucci, which she would be buried in, only months after this trip. She arrives with her press agent, Pat Newcomb. At this conference rather eventful by the unleashing of media journalists and photographers, Marilyn is euphoric and relaxed.

February 1962 - Marilyn Monroe visited the set of the movie "El ángel exterminador", directed by Luis Bunuel, filmed at the Churubusco Studios in Mexico City. Marilyn then went to the home of the director, Luis Bunuel and his wife, Jeanne Rucar.

During her trip to Mexico in late February 1962, Marilyn went to the orphanage "National Institute for the Protection of Children". It is here that she originally wrote a check for $1000, to only tear it up and write another for $10,000. She would be interviewed by Eva Samano, the wife of President Adolfo Lopez Mateos (1958 to 1964) and very committed to the protection of children, she was called "National Mother." Marilyn, who had difficulties in having a child, especially during her marriage with Arthur Miller (she suffered several miscarriages), was planning to adopt a child. Patrica Newcomb, her press officer, accompanied her.

Marilyn Monroe went to a party organised for her, in Mexico on February 25, 1962, with the Mariachis band, and talking with the director and actor Emilio Fernandez Columga Dominquez; as well as Jean-Pierre Piquet, manager of Continental Hilton hotels.

On Friday, March 2, 1962, Marilyn Monroe returned to Los Angeles after her ten day trip in Mexico City. Pat Newcomb, Eunice Murray, and Jose Bolanos were with her.
