Brock’s Mom Didn’t Die… It’s WORSE

In Episode 5 of the Pokémon anime, Brock’s dad Flint tells Ash that Brock’s mom died — but that’s not actually true. Later in the series, we learn that Brock’s parents didn’t die… they abandoned their family, leaving Brock to raise his nine younger siblings alone. This dark truth was changed during localization because the dub team thought it would be “less heavy”.
