Puppy Snake Attack Update

We would like to thank everyone who have sent well wishes for our gorgeous puppy dog Jasper who was recently attacked by a python in our backyard. The video captured on our home security vision was scary for many to watch and we are so grateful that our pup escaped with only minor injuries. Jasper has always been under our close supervision and we are so relieved that this enabled us to reach him quickly and help him escape from the python.
So many people around the world continue to ask us about Jasper’s welfare so we have released this video to show people that he is doing really well despite his unexpected close encounter with a python. As this new video shows, Jasper’s injuries are healing well and he is still enjoying his outdoor play in the backyard.
I would like to assure all the snake lovers that the python that attacked Jasper was also quickly released back into bushland without injury. The pythons are non-venomous and a protected species in Australia and we’ve never had an issue with them in our yard with our previous rescue doggy who lived here with us for over 10 years. As our property borders a National Park we have an abundance of native Australian wildlife around us and usually we all live in harmony.
Just to clarify, Jasper is a cross breed pup. His mother is a Staffy x Rhodesian Ridgeback and his father a German Shepherd x Labrador. He did not suffer from a bruised or punctured lung and he is not a Wolfhound cross as reported in some media.
