Both in a relationship prior to meeting each other, Kayla was independent and doing life to the fullest while Marqus was living the life of an athlete with girls constantly available. Neither looking for marriage. Kayla’s hesitations were due to seeing a past of failed marriages and Marqus not seeing marriage as an option due to how he chose to handle girls. He figured he could continue to be him and never settle down. The end was very different than what either were expecting.

Marqus was in an on and off relationship but was not faithful unbeknownst to Kayla. Marqus admits that he did not want to lose his current girlfriend but didn’t want to keep her either. He shares that he did contact her a few years back to apologize for the way he treated her.

Marqus shares how even though they both attended the same church from childhood they didn’t really know each other (or spoke really) and how Kayla “shot her shot”. Afterwards, their friendship blossomed but took a turn once feelings became involved and caused a breakdown in communication. Marqus admits that even though he cared fro Kayla, he didn’t want a relationship. He also shares his response to the boyfriends that Kayla acquired during all of this and how it showed how much he truly cared for her. Kayla explains how Marqus knew how to swoop in and say the right things to say to pull her back in but once she had her fill she finally called it quits. Thats when she found out she was pregnant.
