In 2018, Anna Brones set out to create 100 papercut profiles of inspiring and insightful women and their wisdom. What resulted was a long research project that brought to life the stories of women and their activism, from environmental advocates to suffragists. This presentation tells the story of that project as well as looking at the potential for art as a catalyst for activist and engagement.
• Anna Brones is a writer, artist, and educator based in the Pacific Northwest. She considers herself a paper cut artist who creates illustrations from single pieces of paper. Her paper cut illustrations appear in many different places, in books, on wine labels, and public art installations. Anna is passionate about sharing her creativity with others and regularly teaches workshops, both in person and virtually. She contributes to a variety of digital media and she is also the author of several publications: Fika: The Art of the Swedish Coffee Break, Live Lagom: Balanced Living the Swedish Way, and Best Served Wild: Real Food for Real Adventures.

The Squeezebox Stompers is a Boston area Americana Roots band that perform Americana, Cajun, zydeco, blues, Folk, and originals all over New England for the past 15 years. Members of the band have received Boston Music Awards and Songwriting Awards who are noted for step-lively up-beat music that inspires audiences to dance.
