If formatting fails, the HDD may need to be reseated, cleaned, or replaced.
Steps to Fix Ricoh SC 860-01:
Enter Service Mode:
Method A: Press the [Reset] key, then press 1, 9, 9, #. Select "System SP".
Method B (IM C Series): Press [Reset], then 1, 0, 7, and hold [Clear/Stop] for 3 seconds.
Format HDD (SC860-01 Fix):
Navigate to SP-5-832-001 (HDD Formatting/All).
Select the option to format the HDD (ALL).
Execute the formatting.
Wait for "Completed" to appear on the screen, then reboot the machine.
Hardware Check (If Formatting Fails):
Turn off the machine.
Check and reseat the connections on the HDD unit.
If the issue persists, the HDD may need to be replaced.
Note: Formatting the HDD will erase stored documents in the document server.
