Rope pushdowns for bigger triceps

Standing too far from the cable station will make a tricep pushdown heaviest at lockout, which doesn’t really offer any value when it comes to hypertrophy. Your triceps are able to handle significantly more load in that mid- to lenghtened range, so it makes more sense to stand closer to the cable station in order to make this part of the movement heaviest.

Next, keep your elbows fixed by your side and avoid moving them back and fort. This fixed position is exactly what will bias the longhead of your triceps. Finally, keep the elbows (somewhat) tucked, this helps avoid turning it into a press.
