Growing up during the golden age of computing, Eric has consistently seen computers become more capable and marveled at the power they possess to impact humanity. He is particularly interested in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and artificial intelligence but has realized that, together, they are not a panacea. Instead, racism and bias can and do exist in artificial intelligence. Eric points out the importance of working toward equity and justice in computing. He doesn’t claim to know the answers, but he believes they start with awareness that we must all grasp when confronting these new frontiers. Eric Satterly is an Information Technology evangelist experienced in leading and aligning IT efforts with institutional direction. He has a varied work background ranging from entrepreneurial, start-up environments to highly structured, corporate operations. Throughout his career, he has been successful in developing, communicating, and implementing Information Technology strategies.
