How to Install the Yorkville VorMax Toilet

Follow along with this helpful video guide to learn how to properly install the Yorkville VorMax Toilet by American Standard.
To begin, assemble the following tools:
- Putty knife
- Sealant
- Hacksaw
- Regular screwdriver
- Tape measure
- Adjustable wrench
- Carpenters level
- Flexible supply tube
- Closet bolts
- Floor lag bolts
- Wall mounting bolts
- Neoprene or Graphite Felt Gasket
STEP 1: Begin by roughing in your dimensions. The distance from the floor to closet flange centerline must be 4” with flange surface flush to 1/16” max. beyond finished wall.
STEP 2: Install the closet bolts in the flange channel, turn 90-degrees, and slide into place 6” apart and parallel to the floor. Use putty to hold the bolts in if necessary. Brace under the flooring as needed and drill two mounting pilot holes as shown.
STEP 3: Install the neoprene or graphite felt seal (not included).
STEP 4: Install the toilet on the flange. Unplug the waste opening and install the toilet on the closet flange so the bolts project through the mounting holes. Loosely install the retainer washers and nuts.
STEP 5: Install the toilet by positioning it squarely to the wall and with a rocking motion, push the bowl against the ring and flange. Alternately tighten the nuts until the toilet is firmly anchored. Isntallt he washers into the lag bolts, then install the four bolt caps on the tapered washers. Smooth off the bead of sealant around the base, and remove excess sealant.
STEP 6: Connect the water supply line, and hand tighten the nut.
STEP 7: Carefully place the tank over the bowl, then tighten the handles alternately until the tank contacts the front and back of the bowl.
STEP 8: Securely connect the water supply line to the shut off valve.
STEP 9: Adjust the water level to the leve indicated on the tank by turning the adjustment knob to move the float cup up or down. Prime the system by flushing the product 5 times before use to achieve optimal performance.
STEP 10: Verify the adjustable screw setup. Depress the trip lever all the way, adjust the screw on the teeter bar so the rear frame touchese the frame stop. Return the trip lever handle to the rest position. Then make sure the hook is fully engaged under the tab on the valve body. If not, slightly adjust the screw to make sure the hook is engaged.
