Today we are talking about little known, but quite unique tax haven in the Caribbean - St Barts.
Saint Barthélemy (or St Barts) officially the Collectivité territoriale de Saint-Barthélemy, is an overseas collectivity of France in the Caribbean. This tiny place is home for approximately 10 000 people.
This is a place where you could potentially get a tier 1 passport, and at the same time have very favorable tax treatment.
St Barts is a part of France - this means that you could potentially obtain French passport. Your time spent in St Barths qualifies as your time spent in France, when it comes to qualifying for French citizenship.
So, how do taxes work in St Barths? If you move there, for the first 5 years you'll pay taxes as a normal French person. Same goes if you set up a company.
After those intial 5 years, you'll be paying ZERO tax.
You can buy a company that was operating for the past 5 years, and take advatage of zero tax on corporate level from the day 1. However, you'll still need to pay French personal income taxes.
As for the citizenship, after 5 years you could qualify for French passport. On top of that you don't have same citizenship requirements as you would have in France.
