It is with great pleasure to be able to present a new song with my friend Marcus Dietrich. Marcus is a fine pianist in part due to his many years of studying music. Beyond that his knowledge and ideas of what makes a great piece of music has ensured that we feel have achieved what we set out to do. All of that pales into insignificance when compared to his personal qualities of humour and friendship. I look forward to the next time our music paths cross and hope we can achieve something even better.

Background Information:
=======================
When Marcus first asked me if I was interested in working with him on a project I thought 'Yes' before I even knew what the project was! As it turned out it was to work on an incredibly beautiful track that has really become a personal favourite of mine. At first Marcus was going to play the piano and I was going to provide the accompaniment but the idea evolved quickly into both of us playing separate piano parts. Over the course of a week we managed a long distance recording session which naturally meant a few re-takes here and there until we were satisfied with the final result. We decided to record the pianos using midi so that we could apply the same piano VST to our performances. This was important as in the final track there is no noticeable change in sound and the transition is smooth as we take over from each other.

Marcus took responsibility for the video production and he amazed me with his creative abilities to put together such a wonderful and emotionally charged presentation. There wasn't a dry eye in the house when we saw it for the first time! And huge congratulations to Bildgeflüster on their absolutely terrific work. Their photographs are sensational and you should check out the rest of their work on their website.

We stayed pretty faithful to the original track but one thing that occurred to us while working in preproduction was that at the main climatic part of the song it seemed like it was
