MiMa's cover of Jean Michel Jarre - Oxygène 4

Well, as my name is Michel and I'm a synth addicted, I cannot leave my profile without a single video with a cover of the great Jean Michel Jarre ;-)

Here's my rendition of his most famous piece of music, Oxygène 4. This time I'm using only Roland analog keyboards, precisely the Jupiter 6, the JX-8P and the Juno 106. All the sounds are programmed by me.

To do this video I first redid the entire song using ModPlug Tracker for the drums/bass parts, and after rendering these as single .WAV tracks I imported them in Reaper, then I did a multitrack recording of the rest using only the Jupiter 6. Even the drum machine's noises were programmed on the Jupiter prior to be sampled and sequenced with ModPlug Tracker, and every single sound/noise in the recording comes from it.

The only effects I used are a Boss CE-5 chorus pedal for the string sounds and a Behringer FL600 flanger pedal for the 2nd lead (the one I play on the Juno in the video). The stereo L-R delays of leads and strings were made by hand by pasting and time-shifting multiple copies of the tracks on which I wanted the the effect.

I used no reverbs as I think the delayed strings do the "spacing" trick very well.
