Massachusetts State Police Ford Interceptor Responding Lights and Sirens

The FBI has arrested several Massachusetts State Police Officers including some that had already retired on federal charges of fraud. The troopers were charged with embezzlement from a state agency receiving federal funds. The police officers lied about working overtime shifts and therefore received state money for work that they never did. On top of that, the police officers fabricated phony tickets to make it look like they had worked those shifts when in fact they had not. The US Attorney's Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation issued warrants for the arrest of the police officers. The corruption was apparently so endemic and widespread in State Police Troop E (covering the Massachusetts Turnpike) that the entire Troop E was completely disbanded as per order of the Governor of Massachusetts, Charles Baker. Some of these Mass State Troopers were "earning" more than $300,000 a year, which is more than the governor of Massachusetts.

Other problems for the Massachusetts State Police are that they hired an ex-drug dealer to be a State Trooper. You can read all about that scandal here:

And if that were not enough, State Police Troop F, which is responsible for patrolling Logan Airport in Boston, is embroiled in an overtime scandal of its own. Many of the State Troopers working shifts at the airport make more in overtime than in their base salary. In fact, 80% of the Massachusetts State Police officers assigned to Logan Airport make more money annually than the Governor of Massachusetts. Read all about that here:
